Government Decided To Withdraw The Palm Oil Case


Thiruvananthapuram The state government decided to withdraw the palm oil case which took the state politics by storm.For this application will be made to the vigilance court.The order withdrawing the case is released by the government. With this the decision made by last UDF government to withdraw the case got executed.
In the cabinet meeting held on 12th of this month the government had decided to exempt Jiji Thomson and P.J Thomas, the officials who were accused in the case.The decision to with draw the case as such came just after that.The decision to discontinue with the case was taken on January 19th 2005 by the then government of UDF ,but the LDF government which came in power the following year ,informed the Supreme Court about canceling the decision by UDF government.But they did not inform the reason for cancellation of the order.
It is pointing out this reason that the officers accused in the case were released from the charge. They also had asked the government to release them from the case .

Rail Doubling:38 Trains Through Shornur Will Be Cancelled From Tomorrow Onwards.


Palakkad:The non interlocked works as part of Shornur -Karakkad Railway Doubling are starting on Wednesday.It will be from September 25th to October 16th.Since the work effects the signaling system,trains through Shornur,including long distance trains may get delayed.Railway Divisional Manager Piyush Agarwal in a press meet said,arrangements are made not to effect the long distance passenger as far as possible.During the days in which there are works going on,38 day trains are cancelled.22 trains may be cancelled partially.
Including long distance trains,82 trains are passing through Shornur.In this 44 trains will pass Shornur during the non working hours.Because the signals are to be given by employees, trains will be passing at reduced speed.Because of this trains will be delayed said Senior Divisional Operations Manager V.C Sudheesh.14 trains including long distance trains will be running not reaching to Shornur ,from September 25th to October 16th.For them stops are allowed at Vadakkancherry and Ottappalam.

Helmets To Be Sold Along With Two Wheelers


Thiruvananthapuram: Motor Vehicle Department instructs the two wheeler dealers not to sell vehicle with out helmets. As per the Central Motor Vehicle Act ,helmets are also to be given along with sale of two wheelers. Helmets are to be there for sale in two wheeler showrooms.No excess price are to be collected. The helmets are to be of ISI standards.While going for registration of two wheelers the bill for helmet also to be submitted to the office.Those who are having the helmets with them need to give its bill only.The bill which are older more than two years will not be accepted.The helmets are to be worn at the time of going for registration of the vehicle too.There will be action against the dealers who are charging excess price for helmets.
By making the vehicle checking strict ,the department is targeting youngsters who are over speeding. Youth who are riding 150 -220 cc bikes on high speed are the most getting into accidents.These people have the tendency to make changes in tyres and suspension in order to attain the high speed.Air horn, high beam lights,noise making silencers are also being misused.It is those who are using the settings which are to be used in races to the streets , getting into accidents. Most of them avoid helmets also.

Kerala Proposes To Introduce High-Speed Train Service on Ernakulam – Kannur Route .


Tiruvanthapuram – Kerala State Government had mooted a proposal to introduce a high – speed train in Ernakulam – Kannur Section. The train will stop only at one point in a district and is envisaged to cover the distance in three and half hours. The chief minister also said that the Railways have responded favorably to the proposal.

He spoke this to the news persons after the high – level meeting chaired by him to discuss on the set up a separate company to implement the proposed suburban rail corridor modeled on the Mumbai mass rapid transit system.

It has been decided in the meeting that the State government and the Railways will have equal stakes in the new company. The State Government will also set up a separate company (special purpose vehicle) to implement the proposed suburban rail corridor modelled on the Mumbai mass rapid transit system . Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation, which runs the Mumbai transit system will be given the responsibility for this and will ask them to prepare a detailed project report before December. . He also added that the next meeting will give official confirmation for this.

Ripper Jayanandan Caught


Puthukkad:Ripper Jayanandan who jumped off from the jail from Trivandrum fell to the police at Puthukkad near Thrissur.He was caught from Nellai,at Mannuthi -Angamaly national high way.It was at 3.50 P.M when the BJP rally against Toll reached Nellai.
The S.I K.K Ravi and his police who were in escort for the rally,caught him. It was Police men,Sijith and Baiju who identified Jayanandan at first. The police confirming it as Jayanandan who was crossing the road pushing his punctured cycle. He was facing the cycle shop when the police caught him from behind.
His attempt to escape to the crowd got failed. When police asked for his name he said Dharmarajan and questioned again he acted as if he is mentally unstable.He was taken to the Puthukkad Police Station. He was questioned at the station by I.G S Gopinath,Rural S P Ajitha Begum Sullthana, Chalakudi DyS P.P.T Thomas and Special Branch Dy S.P.B Rajeev, for about two hours.He did escape from the Poojappura Central Jail on 10th June. He told the police that he did not had any help from any one for escaping from the Jail.

Sitting Judge – Chief Minister Will Directly Write Letter to the Court Says Thiruvanchoor


Kozhikode – Chief Minister Himself will write a letter to the high court registrar seeking the service of a sitting judge for the judicial probe into the solar panel scam said the home minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan. He added that this will be done considering the demand of the Opposition.
He also said that, it is the decision of the Government to investigate the allegations by the sitting judge and the government will try its best to get this done. On the ongoing probe by a Special investigation team into the scam, the home minister said that a total of 33 cases, were being investigated and so far the charge sheets has been submitted for 10 of them and the rest would be filed soon. The cases which the UDF government undertook will be completed soon and the other cases which got registered during the LDF government will be pending as of now. Said the Minister.

Bus Strike on Wednesday


Kochi – The Motor vehicle workers will go on protest against the latest fuel price hike by staying off the roads in the state on Wednesday. The trade union has called for the strike and the strike will be from Morning 6 am to Evening 6 pm. This has been finalized on the trade union meeting held in Kochi today. The agenda of the strike is to protest against the hike in fuel prices and will also demand a hike in the fare along with other issues based on the present situation. . The CITU leader Elamaran informed that all public buses will not run in the state on Wednesday. .

Court Stopped The 14 Year Old Getting Married Off


Kannur.Court intervened to stop the 14 year old girl getting married off at Mattannoor near Kannur.The marriage which was proposed to happen on Monday got stopped by Mattannoor Chief Judicial Magistrate.The marriage was proposed between the 14 year old girl of Chelleri in Keechari of Mattannoor and Shakkeer (28) of Keecheri.Against the marriage the Child Marriage Officer Jessy Mannet had approached the court.
The Court which considered the petition requesting to the Juvenile’s marriage,gave order to stop.The instruction was given to Groom Shakeer, Bride’s father Majeed and Keecheri Muslim Church Committee Secretary, not to conduct the marriage.the bride and family who were in Gulf came here recently

Number Of Blind After Cataract Goes To 9;Doctor and Nurse Gets Suspension


Kunnamkulam:The number of people who lost eye sight after cataract surgery at Taluk Hospital,became 9. As on Friday and Saturday three more reached hospital for further treatment.In the incident the Ophthalmologist and Head Nurse in charge of operation theater got suspended.
Dr.K.R Pradeep Kumar,and Head Nurse N.Ramani are the suspended in the incident.By Afternoon the fax message of Health Department Director,on suspension reached the office of district medical officer.The order on suspension was issued after the report from DMO Dr.V.Venus who had the report from Deputy D.M.O Dr.Bindu Thomas,who did the preliminary investigation.The order which was sent to the Kunnamkulam Taluk Hospital through special messenger was conveyed to the Dr.Pradeep over the phone. Head Nurse Ramani got the order by evening.

Sitting Judge: LDF Will Be Discussing On That :Pinarayi


Cheruthuruthi:Regarding the non availability of sitting Judge to inquire about Solar Case,the LDF will discuss in their meeting tomorrow ;says CPI State Secretary Pinarayi Vijayan.LDF demand was inquiry by a sitting Judge.Inn this matter the government did not make much initiative.
Regarding the question on ‘Price hike of Chicken”,that E.P.Jayarajan and Thomas Isac are having different opinions,to the media Pinarayi said for different different demands the protests will come up in many ways but these are not discussed in the party.
