Trivandrum: Yousaf Ali is determined to go ahead with the Bolgatty project. It was his dream project and there is no question of retracting from it. Said Yousaf Ali, addressing a seminar conducted by the Trivandrum Press Club.

“When some controversy occurred regarding this project, all the political parties in Kerala supported me wholeheartedly. So I decided to go ahead with it. The project will be started within three months” clarified Yousaf Ali.

Recently when it acquired a scandalous nature he had declared that he is abandoning it.

It was for a thirty year lease that a plot or 27 acre was taken. There, a convention centre was to be built. Along with that a hotel and a few service apartments also were planned. But, in Kerala Building rules there was nothing by the name service apartment. That created a misunderstanding in the minds of the people. I’m doing whatever I can for the State. The Bolgatty project was not planned as a money spinner” he added.

“I’m not a real-estate dealer. I’m giving Rs.Three crores as rent to the Port Trust every year. The contract I have signed with the Port Trust is highly transparent. It was drafted by eminent advocates from India and abroad. But me and the Port Trust are bound to give any clarifications needed. I’m simply an ordinary businessman” said Yousaf Ali.
