Scared to Direct film In Malayalam : Says Geetu Mohandas


Actress turned director Geethu Mohandas who made Geetanjali Thapa to win the National award for the Best actress says that she is little scared to direct a film in Malayalam. She has noted this on her official Facebook page after the announcement of the National awards.

Geetu’s Liars Dice is set in the back drop of the snow clad Indian Village Chitkul in The Tibetan border. The film Plots the hardships faced by a women who sets in search of her husband along with her daughter. Geetanjali Thapa won the award for beautifully portraying the character. Liars dice was the debut directed film of Geetu Mohandas. The camera of the film is handled by her husband and famous Cinematographer Rajeev Ravi. He also won the national award for the film for the best cinematography. There were criticisms earlier that the film had similarity with Vidya Balan Starrer Kahaani but the film got good response from all over the world. The film is continuing its successful journey in the festival circuits around the world. It has already been screened in 17 festivals and and will be screened in many more. It won Special Jury Award at Sofia International Film Festival, Bulgaria, recently and will be soon screened at Munich festival.

She entered the Malayalam film with the film ‘Life Is Beautiful’ With Mohanlal and Samyuktha Varma. And went on to become one of the important actress in South Indian Languages. It is during this time she got married to Rajiv Ravi and following the marriage she kept away from films
