Vanakkam Chennai with Shiva, Priya Anand And Santhanam has hit the theatres. The film which has been censored with “U ” Certificate tried in vain to get the tax exemption. The movie was written and directed by debutant Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi and produced by her husband Udhayanidhi Stalin under the banner Red Giant Movies. The reports says that the film were not only denied tax exemptions but also the govt official who signed in favor of Vanakkam Chennai were transferred .
During the Celebration eve of 100 years of Indian Cinema The Makers of Vanakkam Chennai approached for tax exemption which got rejected and for this the makers will be filing a petition in the Madras High court seeking entertainment tax exemption . The Earlier Films “Oru Kal Oru Kannadi” and “ Neer Paravai” produced by Red Giant Movies were also denied tax exemptions.
