No Power Cuts for next three years: Electricity Minister

Kumbalangi: State Minister for Electricity Aryaadan Muhammed says there will not be any power cut in the coming three years. Purchase agreement for 600MW per annum has been completed he said. He was inaugurating the Solar power project installed with the support of Central Warehousing Corporation at the Kumbalangi Hospital.

The state needs per day 3500 MW. Out of which 1500MW are produced here in the state and the balance is purchased at extra cost. This year so far we got 80% more of rain. But this won’t solve all the problems. We don’t have the capacity to convert electricity from the whole of rainwater. Without moving on to non conventional energy sources we cannot sustain. Solar projects, wind mills etc all have to be made use of. To start a new power project at Brahmapuram is in its final stage said Minister.
