The Legend Music director V Dakshinamurthy (94) passed away. He took his last breath in his Mylapore Residence. He died of the prolonged illness related to the old age. He has done music direction for almost 125 films in His music career stretches over 50 years and have composed for almost 859 film songs. Besides Malayalam he has composed music in Tamil and Hindi also. But the majority of his composition is in Malayalam. He is the guru of the popular musician Ilayaraja, and Singers P Leela and P.Susheela.
DakshinaMurthy was born on 22nd December 1919 in Alappuzha. When he was a child, he learned Thyagaraja swami Keerthanas form his mother.
The film “Nalla Thanka” produced by Kunjackko under the banner KK productions was his debutant film as music director, He has also composed music to the lot of songs written by the famous film , serial Director Sree Kumaran Thampi.
