The govt: has decided to revise the circular regarding the marriageable age of Muslim girls, the High Court was informed. This assurance was given in response to the petitions filed by different organizations. A new order will be issued within 2 weeks, the court was informed. After revising the circular, if some discrepancy still persists that shall be considered, said the Division bench presided over by the Chief Justice Manjula Chellur. The circular which stated that 16 year old Muslim girls can register their marriage, had become a controversy.
