Marriageable age of Muslim girls. Law Secretary told to explain


Muslim Wedding-Malayalam NewsThe recent circular regarding the marriageable age of Muslim girls had turned out to be a controversy. Today the Law Secretary Ramaraja Prema Prasad was called to the ministerial meeting and told to give an explanation. He is told to clarify the legal sustainability of the circular and the circumstances under which it was issued. What is seen in the Govt: circular is not Indian law. It’s Jamaikan law. The law experts point out that the Indian Parliament has never passed this law. The controversial circular is not at all based on the 1957 Muslim marriage act.
