Shamna Kasim has earned her fame in the classic re-make movie ‘Chaattakkaari’. But, being a Malayalam actress she did not get the due attention from Malayalam. She began her career in the movie ‘Manjnjupoloru Penkutty’ directed by Kamal and then acted in ‘Pachchakkuthira’ and ‘Dicember Ennittum’. But, the film ‘Alibhai’ which was a failure in the box office brought her luck with her character ‘Kingini’. Although she was not considered in the Malayalam cinema, she has lots of work in Tamil and Telugu. She is known as ‘Poorna’ in other language movies. She is acting in the Tamil re-make of the Malayalam film ‘Ordinary’. She says, if she gets married in this busy schedule that will adversely affect her career. Therefore she has decided to postpone her marriage to another two more years. She considers the word of junior dalapathy Vijay, that Tamil cinema got a new Asin, as a word of recognition. She is at present the judge in Amrutha TV Super Dance Junior.
