Director Jithu Joseph had initially approached Mammootty for a date. Mammootty could not give the call sheet due to date clash. Then JIthu approached Mohan Lal and he sgreed to don the role of Georgekutty along with Meera as the heroine.

One more such a news is heard that for the film Memories, Jithu had initially approached Mammootty but he rejected the offer saying that the role is an immature one for his level. Then the role came to Prithwi Raj and it became a hit film. If this is true this is the second mistake happened with Mammooty.
