J C Daniel award for I.V. Sasi


Famous director I V Sasi has been selected for the JC Daniel Award of 2014, hosted by Kerala Government . He has been selected based on his contribution to the Malayalam film industry for the past four decades. The Daniel state government award is given to the individuals for their achievements and contributions to Malayalam film

I.V Sasi who entered the industry as art director has directed about 150 films. In 1982 he has been awarded the Nargis Dutt National award for his film Aroodam. He has directed films like 1921, Aalkoottathil thaniye which got state awards. In 1989 he got the best director award for his film Mrigaya.
The award has been finalized by the jury chaired by writer M.T Vasudevan Nair and actor Padmashree Madhu, P.V Gangadharan, Cultural secretary Rani George and Kerala State Chalachitra Academy chairman T. Rajivnath.
