Film Critics Award : Best Actor Mohanlal, Best Film Oppam

Kerala Film Critics association had announced the film critics award for the films which got rleased on 2016. Actor Mohanlal was awarded the best actor critics for his performance in the film oppam. Actress Nayanthara was awarded the best actress critics for her performance in Puthiya Mukam. Oppam the crime thriller of Mohanlal priyadarshan team has been selected as the best film critics of the year.
The film pulimurugan, directed by Vyshakh was awarded as the critics most popular film of the year.

Ruby Jubilee Award – Adoor Gopalakrishnan
Chalachitra Ratnam awards for Film makers Sreemumaran thambi, Fazil, Cinematographer K Ramachandra Babu and actor Shanti Krishna were awarded for their life time contributions to the Malayalam film industry.
Second best film _ Jacobinte Swarga Rajyam,
Second best actor Male – Ranji Panikkar for Jacobinte Swargarajyam
Second best actor Female for Minnaminungu
Best Scriptwriter – Vineeth Sreenivasan for Jacobinte Swargarajyam
Best Music director M Jayachandran for Kamboji
Bestsinger Male : Madhu Balakrishnan,
Best singer female : Varsha Vinu
Best cinematographer : sujith Vasudev
Special Jury award for Actors Nivin Pauly, Tini Tom, Samuthirakkani and Lakshmi Gopalaswamy
