Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary


The Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the rain shadow region of Western Ghats of Kerala; India The location of the sanctuary offers the unique advantage of watching its fascinating wildlife at close quarters from the road without venturing deep into the jungle. Leopard, bear, porcupine, elephant, Indian roller, cuckoo, common snipe, crow pheasant, jungle nightjar, kite, grey jungle fowl, Indian hill myna, robin, jungle babbler, darter, Python, cobra. Chinnar is the habitat for the endangered Giant Grizzled Squirrel of India

The Marayoor sandal forest and the beautiful Thoovanam waterfalls are located here.
