Thrissur:On doing cataract surgery for people lost their eye sight.In the surgery conducted at Kunnamkulam Taluk Hospital,Vijayalakshmi,Rajan, Kuttappan and Balan lost their sight.The infection during the surgery is considered as the reason for the incident as per first hand report.Between 22nd July ans 12th August,10 people had surgery in Taluk Hospital.These four were among them.They came back to hospital on having problems after the surgery.But they were returned from hospital saying that follow up treatments are not possible there.The patients complaints that though the hospital confirmed on the loss of eye sight,there was no co operation from the hospital authorities.It was after one week from the date of surgery that the doctors came to know bout the incident says the hospital authorities.It was conveyed to the patients too.Three among those who lost sight are in treatment at Thrissur Medical College.One went to a private hospital in Ernakulam for treatment.
