Aralam wildlife sanctuary is the northernmost protected area of Kerala state. The highest peak here – Katti Betta – rises to a majestic 1145 m above sea level. Main faunal attractions in the Sanctuary are boar, gaur, Nilgiri langur , spotted deer, and bison, while jungle cats, leopards, barking deer, elephant, , Malabar giant squirrel, and various types of squirrels can also be spotted.
