85% of the films released in last six months failed

Kochi: In last six months time there were almost 100 films got released here but 85% of them were commercially failed .This is first time in last 10 years that 100 films getting released in six months time. The film industry lost almost 150 crores.  The calculations given by film associations including film chamber says this.

This till this date 105 films came to the theaters. In the centenary year of Indian Cinema 2013, Malayalam cinema is making a record. Though there are continues release of films, commercially malayalam cinema is facing a crisis. Only 13 films could get back the production cost from theaters. Almost 40 films were in theaters not even for a week. In the TV telecast  right sale of cinemas also showed heavy decline this year. The new technologies helped in reducing the production cost considerably but those who making two or three films without  having much idea about the industry market are responsible for the crisis says the  film associations. With the release of 10 films aiming the Ramadan, Onam festival season the industry recession may change expects the film industry.
