New Delhi:The center will allow 60,000 tonnes of rice as extra allowance to Kerala during the Onam Season.This was decided in the discussion Chief Minister had with Union Food And Civil Supplies Minister Prof.K.V.Thomas.Chief Minister demanded the extra allowance at reduced price since the state have the Universal Rationing System.Once the Food Security Bill comes into existence 46% will get rice at Rs.3/-per kg. The decision has to be taken about the remaining 56%. The State is planning to propose a particular package for them.
