English is not the best language in the world. Cinema does not need any language. It itself is a language and is like the music. He said that when he was working for the Film Society, so many foreign films has been screened in the villages with out sub titles and all those films were understood by the rural people and they have liked it and enjoyed it. He said that he believes that in order to enjoy the film English language is not mandatory.
He was reacting to the statement given by Director Adoor Gopalakrishnan that only people who knows English need to attend the festival.
He said that he respect the ace director a lot. If the director has told that only English knowing people can enter the festival, then may be he is mistaken. He doubts that may be the director is still under the hangover of Colonialism.
