Thomas Isaac is an Economist, Political Worker and a prominent leader of CPI (M) . In 2006 Achuthanandan led government He was the Finance Minister of Kerala during the period 2006 to 2011. He was State planning Board Member from 1996 to 2001. Modernization and employment in the coir industry in Kerala is his work. He obtained PhD in Economics from the Centre for development studies which is academically affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru University New Delhi
