Chennai: On the occasion of the 100th Anniversary celebrations of Indian Cinema the tribute from the Malayalam Cinema was a four and a half hour long cinema filled with dance music action and suspense. While all the leaders before and behind the screen joined the venue, the celebration movie became a super hit.Union Minister Vayalar Ravi inaugurated the get together of Malayalam cinema. Minister K.C Joseph was the Chief Guest.The celebrations will conclude on Tuesday.The concluding ceremony in which the President of India and four of the Chief Ministers from South India will attend will be at 4’o clock in the evening.In the event in which Amithabh Bachchan and Rekha will attend,Mammootty and Mohan Lal will be given special mementos.Including Madhu,Adoor Gopalakrishnan and M.T Vasudevan Nair,five veterans from Malayalam Cinema will be honored in the function.
On Monday the Jawahar Lal Nehru Indoor Stadium witnessed celebrating the 80th birth day of Madhu,Kamal Hassan,Mammootty and Mohan Lal wished Madhu garlanding him.The event started with the welcome speech by Mohan Lal with mention about the place of Malayalam Cinema in Indian Film Industry. From the day ,cinema became an emotion ,Madhu became his hero said Mammootty.
With the Kalary movements along the Vadakkan Pattu, the grace of Malayalam filled the venue.Ramya Nambeesan,Meera Nandan and Vishnu Priya did the rangapooja.The greetings to Jagathi Sreeekumar who was not able to attend the function was specially mentioned.Starting from the black and white era till the new generation movies,the growth of Malayalam Cinema was depicted in the art forms staged.The tragedy happened to Vigatha Kumaran and from J.C Daniel how Malayalam Cinema rose as a Phoenix bird were presented in the stage.
