Saundarya (18 July 1972 to 17 April 2004)

Saundarya was a beautiful and talented South Indian actress. She has acted in Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu and Tamil. In her 12 years of acting career she could act in more than 100 films.

Life as an actress

Saundarya’s first picture was a Kannada picture ‘Gandharva’ in 1992. Then, while doing her MBBS studies she acted in another movie ‘ammoru’ and with the success of the movie, she stopped her studies and became a full time actress. Her acting with Amithabh Bachen in the film Suryavamsam was praised by many. She has also produced a movie named ‘Saundharya dweep’. This movie directed by Gireesh Kasaravalli has won many awards , both national and state. Her last movie was the Kannada film Aapthamithra. It was the Kannada remake of box office hit malayalam movie ‘Manichithra ththaazhu’. She has acted with many senior actors like Ravichandran, Vishnuvardhan,Rejanikanth, Chiranjeevi, Kamalhaassan, Mammootty, Mohanlal, Jayaram and Amitabh Bachen.

Life

She was born to KS Sathyanarayan who is an industrialist as well as a cinema writer. She was born to a Brahmin family and married her cousin GS Raghu on 27 April 2003. She was killed in a aeroplane accident in Bangalore on 17 April 2004. The private plane caught fire before take off..
