Ragalaipuram

Velu starred by Karunas who gets a job in Police department despite being coward since his father dies during his tenure as a Policeman. He is so fainthearted that even children make fun of him . However luck plays an important role in his getting quick promotions. Serving as an inspector he faces a medical condition which leads him to think that he has cancer. In a bid to save his Mother and two sisters post his death with his insurance cover, he takes up some daring operations as a police man. This earns him a lot of enemies. The rest of the film show cases how Velu takes on his enemies and also how he gets rid of the doubt about his health.

Deb director Manohar has tried to make a amusing film and has resorted to ridiculing the Police department to make the audience laugh. Not only the main character but also the other characters within the department are used only to make fun. But the purpose is not served in the final output though it includes a bevy of comedy stars viz. Kovai Sarala, Manobala, Singampuli, M.S.Bhaskar .

It’s good to note that Karunas knows his limits and does not try anything other than comedy. It won’t be wrong to say that the actor who is an experienced comedian tries hard to make this film appear as a enjoyable comedy frolic. But his efforts have only helped to make his part enjoyable and do not suffice to save the entire film. Angana who falls in love with Karunas after mistaking him as a brave policeman has just been used to fill up the necessity of a heroine in such films and the role hardly offers any scope to perform. Sanjana as the colleague of Karunas having a one-sided love for him just helps to increase the glam quotient.

Srikanth Deva has given a few foot-tapping numbers for the film. The songs have also helped in bringing out the best out of the dancer in Karunas, especially in the Aasai song choreographed by Sridhar.
