Kottayam: Monsoon continues to heavy in the entire state. In the havoc brought down by monsoon, at least 13 people have already died. Due to land and rock slippage in Pathanamthitta lot of standing crops have been destroyed. In Kuttanad also lot of destruction is caused by heavy rains. In two places bunds gave way and caused floods in low-lying areas. Standing crops in over 456 acres of land have been lost. So many houses have been marooned. Traffic in Alappuzha – Changanasseri road has stopped totally due to flooding. Over 150 relief shelters have been opened up in Kuttanad. Two deaths have been reported from Kannur and Kozhikode.
