Pune Native Lakshmi who was the victim of the brutal Acid Attack and survived with severe burns will now get helping hand from the super star Mammootty. Well Known television Programme Satyameva Jayathe anchored by Bollywood star Aamir Khan telecasted the heart wrenching story of the acid attack on her. Mammootty happened to see the programme and this will give some ray of hope to her. Immediately he contacted Aamir Khan to know the details about Lakshmi and offered to give financial support for her treatment.
Mammootty will bear the full cost of the treatment. She will be treated in the Pathanjali hospital where they have best facilities to provide treatments for burns. Mammootty is one of the director of the hosipital . Before contacting Aamir Khan he discussed the case with chief physician of the hospital whether something could be done for Lakshmi.
Lakshmi had expressed her gratitude to Aamir Khan, and Mammootty for offering her help.
Also conveyed her gratitude for Oscar Winner Resul Pookkutty who also played a vital role to bring her to Kerala.
An acquaintance threw acid on her face in 2005, disfiguring her permanently when she rejected the marriage proposal. After the incident , for almost eight years she remained indoors without facing the outer world. Now she is an activist who work for women who suffered acid attacks. Now she has won the US International Woman of Courage Award.
