Kuruva Island is located 17 Km east of Mananthavady and 40 km North west of Sulthan Bathery of Waynad District in Kerala. The Island is surrounded by Streams and River. This can be accessed by using Rafts and Boats run by Kerala Tourist Department. Vana Samraksha samithi Department of Forest of Kerala has the responsibility to monitor the activities and hence to protect the forest , entry to this place is restricted,
In order to protect the forest and considering the frequency of elephants and other animals to this place and at times of heavy rain, a Pass is mandatory to enter this spot and this can be obtained from Department of Forest Prior to the visit.
