Thiruvananthapuram: Today is 1st of Karkidakam the last month of malayalam calender. Malayalis are treating this as the sacred monthof Ramayana. Today onwards, every evening all the temples and homes will recite the sacred verses of Ramayana. All the temples are prepared for the month long celebration of Ramayana Masa. This year the Karkidaka vavu is on 6th of August the auspicious day for paying tribute to the ancestors who have passed away. Controlling the diet and taking herbal medicines this month is also considered good for Ayurvada treatments. The special “Karkidaka Kanji” is also a good healthy food taken during this month.
