Baalyakaalasakhi won 2 awards in the Kashmir International Film Festival. Mammooty had been awarded the life time achievement award. He had enacted the role of Majeed and his father too. Pramod Payyannoor, the director and scriptwriter of the movie bagged the best director’s special jury award. Director and actress M.K.Reena, Director and Writer Dr.Manjukath and JNU Professor Prof.Dr.Kaushik Baulik were the juries of the feature category. The best movie was Ven Monalisa directed by Fadigeorge Fabad Jordan and the second best movie was the Turkish movie Pre Rabbelious directed by Delmacosin.
