Deepika – Ranveer Starrer ‘Ram-Leela’ , Crosses Rs.50 crore


Sanjay Leela Bansali the Romantic drama ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-leela took off a fantastic start and is inching close to Rs.100 crore at a good pace. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali film has minted over Rs.52 crore in its opening weekend, and trade pundits believe it will sustain good business in the coming weeks too. The film first total weekend collection from India has crossed 50 crore.

The film is co produced by Bhansali and Eros International Media Ltd, has released in 3500 screens. On November 15. The film earned 16 crore on the opening day and 17 crore on the second day and around 19.25 crore on Sunday in the domestic market. This has been read in the a statement from Eros International Media Ltd., which has also distributed the movie.

Despite Ram Leela Not being shown in some theatres, it has performed exceptionally well. The film fared very well in multiplexes and single screens. While the films first weekend collections are fantastic. It remains to be seen if the Ranveer starrer will be able to sustain its business in the first week.

Despite some cinemas not showing thr movie and protests at few places against the film it has collected above Rs 50 crore.
Ram-leela has garnered positive reviews from the film fraternity as well.

According to Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh The film is said to be the fifth biggest opener of 2013, . The biggest opener so far this year has been Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika’s Chennai Express. He also posted on twitter that the film Ram-Leela is the fifth biggest openor of 2013 and Deepikas third biggest opener….Ranveer’s biggest opener.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan tweeted: ‘Ram-leela! The genius of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the passion of Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, the guile of Supriya Pathak and the rawness of Richa Chadda.”

The film’s high points are the sizzling chemistry between Deepika and Ranveer, a scintillating dance number by Priyanka Chopra, strong content with a colourful Gujarati backdrop and Bhansali’s impeccable direction.
