Thiruvananthapuram: Actress and dancer Shalu Menon who was arrested in the Solar scam case has been refused bail. The Thiruvananthapuram Judicial Magistrate Court has refused the bail application based on the argument put forward by the prosecution that, as the accused has high level connections, she would influence the witnesses if bail was granted.
The court refused to accept the reasoning by the defendant’s lawyer, that bail may be granted as the period of police custody was over. Shalu Menon was arrested by the Thampanoor police last week, in the Solar scam case, against the complaint of Rasik Ali from Manacaud, Thiruvananthapuram.
