In 1990 director K C Bokkadiya and Amitabh Bachan jointly churned out the hit movie ‘Aaj Ka Arjun’. Years later Bokkadiya approached Bachan for ‘Dirty Politics’. But he didn’t oblige. The story was about a nurse Banvari Devi killed by the politicians in Rajastan. In this movie Amitabh was invited to do the role of an investigative journalist. When Amitabh declined the offer, Bokkadiya brought Nasuruddin Shaw in that role.
