17th International Film Festival of Kerala Curtain Up Today


The 17th edition of International Film Festival of Kerala will commence on 7th December 2012 at Thiruvananthapuram the capital city of Kerala, India. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will inaugurate Film Festival at a ceremony to be held at the Nishagandhi open-air auditorium at 6 pm on Friday. Mohanlal will be the chief guest.

The festival will showcase 198 films from 51 nations. The inaugural movie – The Ring – will be screened with live background score by noted jazz maestro Soweto Kinch from Britain. About 7,350 delegates have enrolled for participating in the fest. Fourteen films from Asian, African and Latin American countries were selected in the competition section of IFFK-2012. Seven films will be screened in IFFK-2012 in the Indian Cinema Today section.
